Implicit Bias Test

Image
I took the sexuality IAT when doing the implicit bias test and I got "your responses suggested a strong automatic preference for Straight people over Gay people". I thought the idea of the test was interesting especially with the visual test where it made you use "E" and "I" to classify things that were good and and bad while doing the same for "homosexual" and "heterosexual". It was easy at first because you just focused on one specific thing which was good and bad before it made you group things with "good" and "homosexual" or "bad" and "heterosexual" and vice versa.  I thought the test was pretty cool overall and it challenged you to react quickly when putting the words in their designated categories. The results didn't really surprise me. I feel like there isn't really much to say on my end with the results. I hope that doesn't sound arrogant or anything lol.

The Cult of Donald Trump

Image
January 6th, 2020 had to be one of the craziest days in America. I remember waking up to my mom watching the incident go down on TV and I was just shocked. I found it funny seeing how many morons there were in the Capitol that day. They were there because of the outcome of the election. Or so I thought. I later figured out from news articles being written that Trump had played a huge role in what went down in the Capitol on January 6th, 2020. The article best describes what went down that day as Donald Trump inciting the incident hoping his mob would "... would kill his own vice president, Mike Pence, and as many members of Congress as possible so that he could become a dictator." The part where the author, James Risen, compared Trump to Jim Jones was crazy! I was like "WTF!" because that's something I've never even heard of before. It's very accurate because they both wanted to get American politicians killed except Jim Jones sadly succeed in this.  Som

Demystifying the cult leader

Image
Cult Leaders are very much the same kind of people with the same agenda. They want something and they will use people to get what they want. They believe it s a power they were "given" by God. I knew about cults but I never knew what made a cult leader and I never knew why they did what they did. The article gives examples of why cult leaders are the way they are. The article says that some common traits that underpin their [cult leaders] aura are narcissism, charm and charisma, lack of guilt and remorse, spiritual abuse, twisting facts for personal gain, pathological liars, authoritarian leadership, undue advantage of their followers, lack of boundaries, use of media and sycophancy, dissenters as enemies, and they use people as assets and objects. The first trait, narcissism, is defined as  "selfishness, involving a sense of entitlement, a lack of empathy, and a need for admiration, as characterizing a personality type." They believe they are born to be better than

Serial Killers

Image
Serial killers are described as,'" .. .someone who has murdered at least three people, over a period of more than a month, with at least some 'cooling-off” time between each murder."' The article goes on to say that," ... serial killers have existed throughout history. In ancient and medieval times—long before the concept of a “serial killer” entered popular parlance—such murders were often thought to be the work of monsters, werewolves, or witches; when they were caught, many serial killers of the time were accused of (or even confessed to) committing the murders for "supernatural" purposes."  Serial Killers also tend to be anti-social. The article describes a serial killer's personality as people who act," ... abnormal psychological processes—notably severe antisocial tendencies—...". I feel like this kind of puts a target on peo ple who are usually quiet or more reserved. We see this when kids who are quieter and to themselves
