The Cult of Donald Trump

January 6th, 2020 had to be one of the craziest days in America. I remember waking up to my mom watching the incident go down on TV and I was just shocked. I found it funny seeing how many morons there were in the Capitol that day. They were there because of the outcome of the election. Or so I thought. I later figured out from news articles being written that Trump had played a huge role in what went down in the Capitol on January 6th, 2020. The article best describes what went down that day as Donald Trump inciting the incident hoping his mob would "...would kill his own vice president, Mike Pence, and as many members of Congress as possible so that he could become a dictator." The part where the author, James Risen, compared Trump to Jim Jones was crazy! I was like "WTF!" because that's something I've never even heard of before. It's very accurate because they both wanted to get American politicians killed except Jim Jones sadly succeed in this.

Some of the craziest evidence presented during the hearing was " ...audio of insurrectionist leaders and video from inside the Capitol, showing how the rioters were keyed into every Trump tweet in real time and were eager to do his bidding. The evidence showed that the insurrectionists believed — indeed, knew — that they were following Trump’s orders." This is insane because Trump didn't outright say these things because he would've gotten into a lot more trouble than the outcome that occurred after that incident. His followers read his tweets and decrypted them as if they were ciphers before rioting at Capitol Hill. The sad part was when the Secret Service agents started calling their family saying their goodbyes. It's maddening seeing the incident occur but even more seeing how innocent bystanders believed they were going to die because the leader in charge didn't want to call off his followers. I hope something like this never happens again amongst a lot of other things but I especially hope that Trump isn't allowed to run in 2024. He should never ever get that chance for what he did.
